Qualifications of Volunteer Probation Officers
(According to the Regulations of the Probation Committee on the Appointment and Termination of Volunteer Probation Officers B.E. 2561 / 2018)
Chapter 1: Qualifications, Criteria, and Methods for Appointing Volunteer Probation Officers. A Volunteer Probation Officers must possess the following qualifications and must not have any disqualifying characteristics:

Be at least 21 years old.

Have completed at least lower secondary education (or equivalent), or have no less than two years of knowledge or experience in any of the following areas: Rehabilitation and correction, Social work or welfare, Community or social development, Behavioral development, Justice system, Alternatively, the person may be recognized and respected by the public, community, or society.

Engage in honest employment or have an honest means of livelihood.

Have a permanent and clearly identifiable residence.
- 5
Be of good character, honest, ethical, and highly selfless, willing to dedicate themselves voluntarily to assisting in probation operations.

Have physical and mental health that does not obstruct their ability to perform duties.
- 7
Must not be Mentally ill or insane, Incompetent or quasi-incompetent, A person legally declared as such.
